Web Marketing Software
I use a variety of online tools and software to help manage the web marketing process.
I begin by using Digital Point's excellent Keyword Suggestion Tool to generate a list of key phrases. I use Advanced Web Ranking to track search engine ranking positions (SERPs) and to determine linking opportunities and do competitive analysis. I'm currently investigating Link Assistant to see if it will help find and manage linking opportunities. Somewhere in the middle of that are a couple of obligatory Excel spreadsheets.
I use Advanced Web Ranking to monitor ranking for all of the phrases I am interested in. I colour code sites depending on whether they are direct competitors, linking opportunities, unrelated, spam, etc.
I use AWR to review my progress over time. Though I don't currently use it, AWR also offers robust reporting functionality for sending updates to clients. AWR is a cornerstone of way I do web marketing and is well worth the $59 to $500 they charge (depending on edition). It is available for Mac OS X, Linux and Windows unlike it's competitor Web Position Gold.
I'm currently reviewing Link Assistant. So far it looks like a more efficient way to manage reciprocal linking. I can easily build a list of highly ranked pages that link to competitors, or generate a list of highly ranked pages that contain a specific phrase. Link Assistant has a built in mail client and it automates much of the link request / page building process.
If you use any great software tell me about it, or post it at the Digital Point forums.
Best of luck in your web marketing objectives!
